Ellis & Associates, Inc. (E&A), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Engineering Consulting Services, Ltd. and a member of the ECS Group of Companies, specializes in Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Materials Engineering, Testing and Inspection, Environmental Engineering, Special Inspection, and Facilities Engineering Services.

E&A’s integrated engineering services support the land procurement and development process from the time a site is initially considered for potential development through environmental restoration and project completion. Greg A. Edmonds, P.E., F.FES – President


Mr. Edmonds began his career with Ellis & Associates in 1972 and acquired the company in 1988 serving as the company’s President since then. Mr. Edmonds, a licensed professional engineer since 1979, has progressive technical and managerial experience in Geotechnical, Structural, and Construction Materials Engineering. His particular areas of technical expertise are in the areas of land development and construction operations.

Mr. Edmonds’ experience and expertise have earned him five distinguished engineering awards – 1983 NE Florida Young Engineer of the Year, 1996 NE Florida Engineer of the Year, 2003 Florida Engineering Society (FES) Fellow, 2006 James F. Shivler, Jr. Award for Outstanding Service to the Engineering Profession, and the 2007 Florida Engineering Society (FES) Award for Outstanding Service to the Engineering Profession. He is often called upon for expert testimony in litigation requiring his expertise in soils-related construction issues. Mr. Edmonds received a BS in Biology from Belmont Abbey College and a BS in Civil Engineering and a MS in Engineering from the University of Florida, concentrating his graduate studies in soils and structural engineering.

Michael L. Lithman, P.E., F.FES – Executive Vice President


Mr. Lithman, who joined Ellis & Associates in 1986, serves as Executive Vice President and is a licensed professional engineer in multiple states. His responsibilities include directing the financial and operational management of the corporation. His technical areas of expertise include geotechnical and foundation engineering. Since 1976, Mr. Lithman has authored several technical papers in the areas of geotechnical engineering and is often consulted for his technical expertise. Mr. Lithman has extensive project and program management experience, and has successfully budgeted and completed multi-year and multi-million dollar programs.

Throughout his career, Mr. Lithman has received several notable awards and recognition in the engineering field – 1995 NE Florida Engineer of the Year, 2005 Florida Engineering Society (FES) Fellow, 1993 ACI Significant Concrete Award, and the 1984 WSDOT Outstanding Project Award for the Hood Canal Bridge Replacement. Mr. Lithman received his BS degree in Ocean Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology and MS in Civil Engineering and MBA degrees from the University of Houston.
